(1) in treating people the way I want to be treated;
(2) that knowledge is power; and
(3) that beauty (broadly defined) comes in attention to details.
My goal is to make your real estate experience as smooth and seamless as possible, while helping you make informed, strategic decisions to maximize your equity.
For sellers, I want you to walk away with as much money in your bank account as possible. This means balancing the cost and return of preparation work, and choosing a pricing strategy that considers current market conditions. A meticulously prepared property with a well-chosen listing price can make a significant difference in your final proceeds.
For buyers, this means finding a home that not only meets your current needs, but is also a good investment for the future. You will always get a candid assessment from me of any property you are considering-- I point out not just the highlights of prospective homes, but also issues and concerns that may affect future value. When we find the perfect property, I will help you put together an offer that is enticing to the sellers, while minimizing the cost and the risk to you.
I am straightforward and easygoing, but also highly organized and detail-oriented. I have excellent relationships with the local real estate community, and use those to find opportunities and advocate on behalf of my clients. Whether buying or selling, I welcome the opportunity to work with you and help you achieve your goals.

With Hundreds of Agents in the Berkeley Area, Why Choose Me?
My background in economics, including a PhD from UC Berkeley, gives me a deep understanding of markets and pricing, combined with in-depth knowledge of the local real estate market. I produce and publish a regular real estate newsletter analyzing the latest market data for Berkeley. I also continuously view available homes in the area, and follow up to see the final sale price. This ongoing accumulation of knowledge helps me stay up to date with the current market and current home values.
As a longtime Berkeley resident, a parent, the wife of a local business owner/furniture maker, and a former UC Berkeley graduate student and instructor, I am extremely familiar with the area. I can guide you to everything from school scores, to farmers’ markets, well-respected local contractors, fantastic tapas, or favorite neighborhood parks and playgrounds.
Tough but civil negotiation – these are my watch words. The keys to successful negotiation are creative thinking, gathering information to evaluate the mindset and alternatives of the other side, effective communication, and always keeping the ultimate goal solidly in mind. I have compiled a track record as a firm and successful advocate on behalf of my clients.
